Technical Advisory committee



The Technical Advisory Committee is made up of water system subject-matter-experts from member communities who evaluate the current regional water system and advise CIRDWC and their respective member councils and independent boards on capital improvements necessary to provide and maintain an infrastructure to meet growing water demands in central Iowa through 2035.  Specific responsibilities of the Technical Advisory Committee include:

  • Quantifying current and projected population and water demand over a 35 year planning horizon.
  • Evaluating and quantifying current and future regional water supplies and customer demands.
  • Identifying regional water system surpluses and deficiencies.
  • Exploring and recommending water system facilities to cost-effectively meet future demands, with emphasis placed on developing potential joint facilities.
  • Facilitating the solicitation of an engineering consulting firm to assist in planning activities when necessary.


The Technical Advisory Committee meets monthly or as needed.
